Fans flock to Otago Rally Show
A huge crowd has tonight turned out at Dunedin’s Edgar Centre to take in the inaugural Rally of Otago Rally Show.
All competing cars were on display in the huge indoor stadium, with rally fans taking the opportunity to meet the drivers, collect posters and autographs, and meet a few rally legends as well.
Overseas stars, Michele Mouton and Pasi Hagstrom, judged the event’s colouring competition, with the winning entry coming from a young rally fan in the 0-5 year old category.
After a day of heavy rain, competitors in this year’s event will be eagerly watching the sky when they wake up tomorrow morning, as road conditions have taken a beating because of the wet weather.
The fourth stage of the event has been shortened because of the rain, but organisers are confident that the worst of the weather has passed, and that finer conditions will prevail tomorrow.
