Ari’s overalls up for grabs at rally auction

Ari VatanenThe overalls and gloves worn by Ari Vatanen during the 2011 DriveSouth Rally of Otago will be auctioned after the event finishes in Dunedin on April 10.
 

The auction will be part of the post-event presentation dinner, with
three signed photos of Vatanen competing in the event, and a top-line
Masport lawnmower also being offered.
 
The 3-layer FIA approved Chicane driving suite (pictured) uses a design
based on the Alpinestars GP Pro suit (as worn by Michele Mouton and
Fabrizia Pons).
 
The suits are not available from Alpinestars and will become a real
collectors’ item, they are able to be tailored upon purchase to fit
anyone. Such a top-line suit retails at over NZ$2800, even without them
being used by a legend.
 
The Alpinestars gloves on offer are the latest 2011 specification Nomex
glove with pre-bent fingers and palm, and have Silicon treatment on the
fingers and palm to improve grip and feel. The have a RRP of NZ$199.
