Rallying may be in limbo, but New Zealand's Otago Rally is getting on the front foot, announcing the date for the 2021 event.

A rally calendar of up to eight events has been planned for the latter half of 2020, with some popular events set to run.

Due to the spread of COVID-19 the Otago Rally, one of New Zealand's major motorsports events, will not be held on the planned date of April 3-5, 2020.

 

The recent announcements by the NZ Prime Minister to control the spread of the Covid 19 virus have had a considerable effect on the Otago Rally, planned to be held on 3-5 April.

 

22-year old Canvastown apprentice, Jonty Brenssell, has been selected as the Otago Rally Scholarship winner for 2020.

 

The 2020 Otago Rally is pleased to announce that they have partnered with popular local restaurants for this year's event.

In another boost for the Winmax Brakes Otago Classic Rally, Alister McRae will be competing aboard a Ford Escort in the April event.

Winmax has signed on for the second year as the major sponsor of the Otago Classic Rally, to be held from April 3 to 5, 2020.

The Otago Rally is pleased to announce the World Rally Championship commentator, Colin Clark, will return to the event in 2020.

2020's Otago Rally route will head south and be centred around Lawrence and Waihola with 280 kilometres of quality stages.
